Developing a shared vision: strong teams have the power

Purpose In response to environmental uncertainty, organizations rely on independent, empowered teams increase their responsiveness change. The purpose of this paper is analyze how objectives and key results (OKRs) can contribute creating a shared vision which keeps the different, aligned. Design/methodology/approach Through qualitative study, develops conceptual model OKRs lead vision. authors interview professionals in nine differing size industry who recently introduced agile, focusing main hurdles encountered benefits obtained from methodology. Findings findings confirm that are an effective goal-setting methodology suggest successful implementation builds new ways organizing by agile methods. Moreover, developing alignment: first, organizational becomes clear its definition participatory; second at team level, individuals align around through participative objectives. Originality/value contribution two-fold: study provide overview methodology, diffused practice perspective, but has not yet been addressed theoretical point view. And connects extant theory development. This shows they act as coupling mechanism helps independent together.
